CANSail 1/2 Combined

Please Note: Students enrolled in a combined class, have time to complete the qualifications for only one of the two courses being offered. Therefore, if your child is assigned to CanSail 1 skills by the instructor, they will complete only the requirements for CanSail 1 during the duration of the class.

This is a combined class - CS 1/2. CanSail 1 is an introduction to sailing for children aged 9 to 16. The course is instructed in dinghies with the emphasis on safety, fun and seamanship.CanSail 1/2 is ideal for returning CS1 students and recent graduates from CS 1. The first part of the course is re-capturing skills from last year. The course is instructed in dinghies, with students advancing through more complex craft and situations. A strong theoretical knowledge is combined with matching “on-water” practical experience and skill development. Graduates of the CanSail 2 program are competent sailors and are capable of racing in Club races. Courses run Monday through Friday 8:30-4:30. Courses will be run given adequate student registration and availability of an instructor.

We have decided to keep our prices the same as last year and, as such, we will not be offering discounts this year in order to better manage a breakeven sailing season.

COVID SAFETY: While we are hopeful that 2022 will see us return to more "normalized" activities, we will be carefully monitoring the current situation regarding COVID. Any safety requirements will be established in adherence with the local district health region directions. Parents/guardians will be apprised of protocols, should they be required, closer to the beginning of the sailing season.

CANSail 3/4

Please Note: Students enrolled in a combined class, have time to complete the qualifications for only one of the two courses being offered. Therefore, if your child is assigned to CanSail 3 skills by the instructor, they will complete only the requirements for CanSail 3 during the duration of the class.

CanSail 3 and 4 are also instructed in dinghies, with students advancing through more complex craft and situations. A strong theoretical knowledge is combined with matching “on-water” practical experience and skill development. Graduates of the CanSail 3/4 program are fully competent sailors and are capable of racing in local regattas. There are no classes on Civic Holiday Monday. Course price has been adjusted accordingly. Otherwise, classes run Monday to Friday from 8:30 to 4:30. Courses will be run given adequate student registration and availability of an instructor.

WetFeet - Opti Two Week Summer Camp Program

Two Week Wetfeet Summer Camp

Our launch of a two week summer camp program for Wetfeet was a big success in 2021. We will continue with only this option for 2022.

The WetFeet (beginner, ages 6-10) level is intended to be a fun introduction to sailing in a day camp environment for the younger student. It will include activities both on and off the water. Programs are, generally, Monday to Friday from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm. The following option has been extended to a 2 week summer camp program to provide students with time to achieve their Weffeet certification and spend additional time on the water to develop the skills learned. Parents selecting this option must commit to the two week timeframe. Courses will be run given adequate student registration and an available instructor.

We have decided to keep our prices the same as last year and, as such, we will not be offering discounts this year in order to better manage a breakeven sailing season.
